Thinking of visiting
Bitexco the highest building in Vietnam. Food is here very cheap except high-class restaurant. War Remnants Museum. Independence Palace. Shopping stores on Dong Khoi street, Pham Ngu Lao street. Department store: Diamond, Vincome, Bitexco. And more :))
Hi Kit, I thought you did visit the city, maybe I am wrong :(
Anyway, you can visit the center of district 1. There are many must-see places such as Ben Thanh market, Independence palace, Notre Dame Church, Dong Khoi street, etc. You can check out those famous places in just one day.
If you want to discover hidden places in the city, I suggest visiting HCMC with locals.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon ;)
Greetings! I have decided to travel ho chi minh city on 19/dec , and back to home on 26/dec morning (before 7am,maybe overnight in airport). I love sightseeing, taking photographs, and foods too. How should i plan for my trip? And is there any festival on 24dec xmas eve night in ho chi minh city??
thanks and waiting for you guys reply :)
Hey Kit,
Yes, there will be X-mas festival. The street and many shopping malls are decorated and very colorful.
The street in Ho Chi Minh gonna be very very crowded in X-mas eve. I suggest you should not join the crowd in 24/12 and 25/12 because it will be a lot of motorbike traffic jam and maybe pick pocket!
I can see you plan to spend 1 week to travel in Ho Chi Minh. There are many places you can visit in one day because it's all in the tourist area and near to each other such as:
Cho Ben Thanh Market
The Notre Dame Cathedral
Dong Khoi Street
War Remnants Museum
Bitexco Financial Tower
Reunification Palace
Saigon Central Post Office
Fine Arts Museum
Vietnamese cuisine is our pride because it's really outstanding and delicious. I have a list of must-try food for you
Bánh mì - Vietnamese sandwiches
Phở - Vietnamese beef noodle soup
Cơm tấm - broken rice
Bánh xèo - Vietnamese pancake
Gỏi cuốn - Vietnamese spring rolls
Vietnamese seafood
and some local food if you're interested
Bún bò Huế
Bún thịt nướng chả giò
Bánh bèo
Bún đậu mắm tôm
Phá lấu
Hột vịt lộn
Bánh cuốn
Street food culture is one of the unique culture of Saigon (another name of Ho Chi Minh city). I think it's worthy to experience eating on the street with a lot of motorbike running around. However, you should check the place if it's clean or not before try the food.
