I'm Anna. I love shopping, too. There are a plenty of shops round here. Binh Tay market in Chinatown is such an ideal place to buy stuff. It's a wholesale market and the customers are mainly locals so the prices are cheap.
Most of the shopping malls are in district one, very close to each other: Diamond Plaza, Vincom plaza, Parkson Plaza,....The service is very good there.
If i were you, i would never go to Ben Thanh market for shopping. The salers are aggressive and they sold with crazy prices for foreigners.

China town is cool for you if you know good place to hang around or you will pay a lot without local guide like me who have been there for many times.
