Seio was a fun and friendly host for my husband and I on our second night in Tokyo. As his profile says, Seio loves food and believes that food is a great introduction to a country's culture. We left the selection of dinner location to Seio, and he chose an izakaya in the Iidabashi district of Tokyo which is a district often left out of guidebooks. Dinner was a treat. We asked Seio to select a variety of local foods, accompanied by sake. Wow - the chef treated us as his special guests bringing out some uncommon foods such as fresh sea squirt (sea cucumber), and a highly prized sake providing detailed information throughout the meal. Seio was great company. His English is excellent, and he understands Western people very well having lived and studied in the US for many years. Seio was open to answering our many Qs about his life and Japanese culture, and after dinner lead us on a brief waling tour of the district pointing out special highlights along the way that we would never have noticed or understood without a guide and translation. A real highlight of our trip!
