During my tour, Mariko brought her friend (Guts) along. She was accommodating and friendly, and the both of them made my trip to Tsukiji quite relaxed and informative.

In my humble opinion, you could travel the markets on your own and learn just as much about it with some prior research. However, Mariko's guidance will make the trip alot more fun and interactive, especially if you are travelling alone. It felt like I was travelling with friends, and discovering the market together.

It also helps that she speaks good English and can help in translation, should you need to ask any questions.
