1. Enjoy a night at a Host Club or Hostess Club
With a whole assortment of fun things to do in Kabukicho; this district in Shinjuku is known being the largest red light district in Tokyo, without red light prostitutes. Instead, they have host clubs and hostess clubs. These clubs are one of the best things to do in the Kabukicho area of Shinjuku for solo travelers, groups of friends, and even couples. Depending on the type of club, attractive men or woman will wait on your table, chatting friendly, and flirting with your group. Most clubs have discounts for first-time visitors. However, make sure you check online for the hostess club or host club, since some of them will scam foreigners or clueless Japanese businessmen out of hundreds of dollars.
2. Try people watching
Kabukicho, Shinjuku has some great nightlife. It is fun to just lean against a rail and watch hosts and hostesses trying to lure people into their establishment.
3. Check out a Love Hotel
Japan is famous for the Love Hotel, a hotel that specializes in sex. These hotels are often themed, with lavish rooms, ample shower space, and a unique bed. Prices depend on the length of stay, anywhere from a couple hours to the whole night, the premise of the love hotel, and the quality of the rooms. Love hotels are one of the interesting things to do in Kabukicho, Shinjusu - they are a great place to bring back a date, crash with friends, or have a memorable night with your spouse, or crash for a couple hours if you are exhausted.
4. Grab dinner at the Robot Restaurant
Kabukicho, Shinjuku has all sorts of themed establishments – one of which is the Robot Restaurant. This new eatery opened in mid 2012 in the Kabukicho district of Shinjuku. Patrons receive a boxed lunch and are treated to a fantastic show with burlesque dancers, robots, and staged battles. The Robot Restaurant, a foreigner favorite, is one of the most unique and fun things to do in Kabukicho. Make sure you buy your ticket to the show in advance; tickets for all three shows are sold out most nights.
5. Belt your heart out in a karaoke bar
Kabukicho has things to do for people of all ages – if you’re not into the red light district as much, try one of the many karaoke joints in Shinjuku. They serve alcohol and food; each group gets their own private room so they can sing without embarrassment.
