Shohei was the most amazimf host I have ever encountered!!! I travelled to Mt.Fuji with him during Spring Break and that trip was the most unforgettable trip ever. Before going to Shizuoka, Shohei first asked me what were the places I wanted to visit and things I wanted to do, as I had really little ideas about Shizuoka at that time my answer was simply "drinking green tea and going to Mt.Fuji". :p I was truly in doubt whether my trip would go nice since I didn't have enough time to research on Shizuoka, but Shohei didn't not let me down at all. He soon returned to me with a MASTER plan in which things were planned out to every hour. And those places he chose weren't like average travel website type of places. Instead he gave me a "cafeteria plan" in which I can choose things that looked appealing based on the description and pictures attached below and then choose the time slot that I would like to do it. And even for a simple lunch, Shohei gave me options such as "lunch at a local Japanese soba house or sushi bar". He as well asked me if I had any food allergies and special dietary requirements, so that he could choose meal courses and make reservations accommodate to my diet and health condition beforehand. On the date of arrival, Shohei picked me up late at his local station close to midnight and guided me to his studio, which was absolutely spotless!!! He even had two snack cabinets just for his guests! At night he gave me his bed to sleep in, as I previously mentioned that I had back problem for many years, and himself crawled on his couch. The next morning he woke up early to make western-style breakfast and freshly brewed coffee for me just to make me feel more comfortable. After that, he drove me to Mt.fuji which was about three hours from his home. We listened to his playlist and talked about absolutely everything on the road and a three hours drive seemed to fly by so fast! As we approached to our destination I couldn't believe how gorgeous the view was, I would never be able to see it if I didn't have a local to guide me! We had a picnic by the lake, which faced straight to Mt.Fuji, and walked around the area for the entire afternoon. I was so amazed how smoothed things went when I was there, I didn't not have to worry about anything as Shohei had everything planned out exactly the way I wanted it. And he always had a plan b when a didn't work out. Shohei was very bubbly and friendly which then made my trip extra fun and exciting overall! I cannot be more grateful for everything Shohei did for me as his guest! Cannot wait to recommend Shohei to everyone!!! He is the best guys!!! Looking forward to hanging out with him again in the near future!!!
Shohei is the best guide ever! He takes you to the most incredible places that you could never see on your own. If you want an authentic and local experience, you have to go with Shohei. He will show you the best sights, take you to the greatest restaurants, and make your experience unforgettable. Thank you so much for being my guide Shohei; I will definitely return!!!
Going around Mount Fuji with Shohei was one of the best experiences I had during my trip in Japan. I really loved seeing the snow capped mountain and it was really beautiful. We ate a lot of good food too and I felt really happy to spend time with Shohei talking with him about the local culture and having different experiences. It was my first time seeing mount Fuji and going to a foot hot spring. He is really nice, caring and I learned a lot from him. He drove me around to the non-touristy places only locals would know and I feel really thankful for that. I really recommend Shohei as a tour guide and, next time I come to Japan again, I would love to visit other places with Shohei.
My wife and I enjoyed our sightseeing tour with Shohei very much. We were very lucky and had perfect viewing of Mt Fuji the whole time.
Shohei drove us around some of the five lakes and to several great spots for taking photos of Mt Fuji.
We really enjoyed talking to Shohei throughout the day as well. He has traveled quite a lot and we traded stories about the places we had been. He even indulged our travel habit of visiting a Japanese supermarket and happily translated the labeling into English for us.
I would recommend Shohei as a host and if we are ever in Japan again I will definitely look up Shohei as a guide.
P.S. The "secret cafe" at the end of the day was very cool.
