Mt.Takao is great place for view of Mt.Fuji and easy hiking!
Mt.Takao , 599 meters above sea level, is located only 50min by train from Shinjuku station.
It is a 90-120min hiking trip to the summit with fine views of Mt. Fuji !!
The Mt. Takao offers a number of interesting spots including Shinto shrine and Buddhist temple named Yakuo-in halfway up, for it was originally a mountain for ascetic training.

Sachiko was very patient with us. We were a little lost with the meeting place, but she was nice to wait for us. We then headed for the hike at Mt Takao. As both my sister and I are considered beginners to hiking, I would recommend anyone, who loves nature, and a good workout, to try out for the hike at Mt Takao. The hike could be considered simple for seasoned hikers. It is however, slightly tiring for me, but I never regretted having gone for this hike, because the scenery is brilliant. Additionally, while my sister and I were a little slow, Sachiko was patient in waiting for us during the hike as she paused every now and then, to check if we were on path. :) Sachiko was also informative in providing information regarding the culture and the little histories or stories behind Mt Takao. The trip was considered enjoyable and fruitful, and I would recommend this trip to those who are interested in nature, and are beginners to hiking, just like me:)
