Takashi was an awesome guide. We toured Harajuku and the Meiji Shrine. We were fortunately enough to see a few weddings at the shrine that day and he also explained the customs at the shrine very well. At Harajuku, he showed me various interesting shops I would not have otherwise ventured into and explained in detail the Harajuku culture. He brought me to a nouveau style ramen joint which was very interesting! He also went beyond the tour time and brought me to Ginza. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend his services to anyone.

Takashi was great!! He stayed with us so much longer than we expected and had a great attitude the whole time! Although we asked him to take us to some places he hadn't been to before, he had no problem looking it up for us and translating the whole time. He even had little bits of interesting information that we didn't know before. Without Takashi our trip would definitely have been lacking something.

Takashi-san is a great guide! From thoughtfully putting together places to visit to being a great repository of info about his city, it was a fun and eye-opening 2.5 hours. We visited religious grounds like the St. Nicholas Cathedral, Confucius Shrine, Kanda Shrine before hitting the excitement of Akihabara, which Takashi calls the real Silicon Valley. If you are a fan of manga, anime, AKB48 or simply curious about popular culture and the religious aspects of Japan, Takashi can enlighten you. I also finally was shown what Pachinko is all about ;). Thanks Takashi for the tour!

Takashi was amazing! I was in Tokyo for an 18 hour layover and I wanted to see as much of Tokyo as I could without getting lost. I was late for our meeting time (because I got lost) and he was waiting graciously. He only had a few hours to stay with me, but he ended up staying with me longer than he was supposed to. We got sushi and other great food. Before we parted ways, he gave me a list of places to go and showed me which trains to take at every station. He was more than I could have asked for. He was a great part of my time in Tokyo. I hope to see him again next time I am there!

Friendly, kind, funny, reliable and a walking encyclopedia of knowledge is how i would describe Takashi. Despite a rough start with Takashi having to accompany me to the doctors as i was feeling unwell, he still manage to fulfil my request to see Asakusa. It is like having a friend who is very enthusiastic to show you around the neighbourhood. Two thumbs up from me!

It was a fun, cultural, educational and lovable trip with Takashi. From the shinto shrine to the buddhist temple, from Akihabara to Ueno we walked, all the way to Nekomaru Cafe, I enjoyed the company and learnt a lot more from a local's point of view, and not from a guided textbook answers. I've always found it much more interesting to get the point of view from a local, rather than a guided tour.

Takashi was very helpful, from the time we met, till after parted, he was always reachable, and he was able to answer all my questions, he also gave me tips with regards to Host Clubs in Shinjuku, and he also helped me find the Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal, which was much clearer than what the tour company gave me.

But all in all, I enjoyed myself in Tokyo, and definitely woulkd like to come back. Two thumbs up for Takashi and Meetrip! Thank you & the Meetrip team, for creating such a useful app for us tourists to find locals to not only make new friends, but to see a different perspective from the norm. =D

I had a short layover in Tokyo on my way home, enough for a 3 or 4 hour tour of the city. I didn't think I could arrange anything on very short notice. However, Takashi helped me organize a tour customized to my interests. He helped me with transportation from and to the airport, explained interesting things about Japanese history and culture, and really made my short stay in Tokyo outstanding, educational and fun! I highly, highly recommend Takashi, he's an excellent tour guide and he will go out of his way to arrange everything so you will enjoy your trip and not worry about getting lost. He knows the best places to see, and is friendly and helpful.

Although it was my second time to visit Tokyo, it was really unique trip for me.
Before the trip, Takashi san,my local guide, arranged traditional activity according to my interesting,
which made me expect.
We started at Ueno park, seeing Taiko performance and shishima-lion dance.
The follow is Ueno market, a place which definitely can't miss. You can see the local life and local food.
Yushima shrine was the most impressive place to me, because it was rarely showed in guidebook. There was so many people praying for New Year.

However, there was another surprise to me. It was that Japan TV crew followed us to introduce the meetrip.
Interact with them, I can know more about Japanese life.

After all, I really enjoyed the trip, and found another way to arrange my trip:)
