Am going TPE in May and having an overnighter at Sun Moon Lake. Would like to know how long is the HSR ride from Taipei to Taichung and what bus from there to SML? And what is good to do at SML?

HSR from taipei to taichung need 50 mins
Start From 08:50,departure duration is an hour.
Probably an hour and 20mins,if the traffic smooth.
You can taking a boat, taking gondola,seeing lake view.
