Walk up to Minoh Waterfalls and drive to Katsuoji Temple. Enjoy all that Minoh city in Osaka could offer on a 6-hour afternoon tour.
Meet me at Hankyu Minoh Railway Station after lunch around 1pm. We will walk up to the waterfalls. This is a nice round trip for over an hour. The path is not too steep and there are many historical monuments to see so you won't get bored. If the time is right, maple trees will be in full ripe and remember that this is what Minoh is known for.
Along the way, there is a cafe in a hundred-years old tea house. We will have a coffee and cake there. The atmosphere inside the cafe is priceless. Check out also the craft shop inside the cafe. The lady runs the place handcrafts pieces from recycled kimonos. Items you won't find in an ordinary souvenir shops.
After reaching the top where the falls are, we will stroll down the hill and get in my car and head to Katsuoji Temple.
Katsuoji Temple is one of the other highlights of Minoh. It has a history of more than 700 years. Because of its name "Katsu" (in Japanese it means "to win"), this is known as a sacred place for wishing winning. Daruma or the red-painted good-luck dolls are placed everywhere in various sizes making this place very unique. The fresh air and the chant by the monks will make you feel relaxed and united with the nature.
Finally, we will drive back to Minoh Station. We will walk a few minutes to a local izakaya restaurant which is run by a very good friend of mine. Enjoy famous Minoh Craft Beer and try the popular chicken wings. Finish the day with chatting with the master chef at his proud single plate counter.
Do not hesitate to contact me and send me inquiries. I am quite flexible with time and things to do.
