Genting Highlands in the state of Pahang, is located in the hills overlooking the city of Kuala Lumpur and is basically a mountain resort, with not much else other than entertainment, clean air, lots of tourists and good views. Genting Highlands, as the name suggests, is a hill station, but a `touristy’ one- catering to people who want to relax and enjoy themselves.
Genting Skyway, a mono cable car transit network at the highlands runs the fastest cable cars in the world at a speed of 21.6 kms per hr over a distance of 3.38 km.
Genting Highlands also known as the Las Vegas of Malaysia is the only place to have legal casinos in Malaysia since gambling is strictly prohibited for the large population of Muslims in the country. The largest gaming avenue is Casino De Genting.
