d(^-^)b Hi, I'm Thien An. I graduated from Foreign Trade university in HCMC. I have plans for lunar new year and would like to share with you about my traditional festival, Tet.
Vietnamese New Year (or Tet) is the most important and popular holiday and festival in Vietnam. It is the Vietnamese New Year marking the arrival of spring based on the Chinese calendar. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T%E1%BA%BFt)
You and I will visit Ham Nghi street, famous for beautiful flower decoration. There are many great activities in Spring festival like:
_ Watching Lion dance, Vietnamese calligraphist writing wishing in Chinese, fruit festival, etc.
_ Visiting Vietnamese pagodas (if lucky, we could have Vietnamese vegetarian meal for free. It's very special and delicious)
_ Visiting some famous sightseeings in HCMC such as Saigon Notre Dame cathedral, Saigon central Post Office, Ben Thanh market, etc.(Saigon is another name of HCMC)
The greatest things of the trip is that I will give you a ride around my city with my motorbike :D. (However, If you want to travel by taxi or walking, it's your choice.)
In 2016, Tet holiday is between 7th Feb - 13th Feb, but you can come to HCM on 5th Feb also to experience Vietnamese preparing for Tet. At Lunar New Year Eve (7th Feb) you can catch fireworks at 11:59 PM and it's very exciting in HCMC.
Spring is coming, so come to HCMC to explore Tet holiday, a traditional culture of Vietnamese.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
Thien (An) was a fantastic host for my wife and I for a Tet experience in Ho Chi Minh city. She was forthcoming on all our questions, spoke excellent english and we enjoyed her company very much. We can only highly recommend Thien to ther travellers and visitors to the HCMC area. Well done. Regards LB and EE
I had a wonderful day with Thien who tailored the tour according to my tastes. She speaks very good English and was able to explain the Saigonese customs about Tet. This was the first time that I used Meetrip and will do so again.....thanks Thien for a great time.
She guided me Saigon City (Ho Chi Minh City) during the New Year (Tet) and I really enjoyed it.
She took me around the city by motor cycle or walking, and introduced me the many hot spots and the background of them. It was so nice that I experienced the places not on the guidebook for tourists.
She was born and raised in Saigon. It was also interesting to know what real Saigonese thinks.
I also appreciate that she provided me a lot of information according to my requests before the visit.
If you would like to feel the atmosphere of Saigon not only for the tourism places but also for the real life, I believe she will be the best guide for you.
We will arrive in Saigon on 13 of August, 2016 . How can we find you as our guide?

My girlfriend and I recently met up with Thien for a tour while visiting Saigon. We had an excellent time exploring the city on the back of a motorbike with her and her friend, Chloe. Both Thien and Chloe were excellent hosts - great drivers, very knowledgeable about the city, and a lot of fun to talk to. During our tour they took us to a fantastic restaurant serving Saigon specialties, we saw several local landmarks, and enjoyed Saigon's parks and cafes. We had a great time seeing Saigon like a local with Thien, and would definitely recommend her as a guide to anyone visiting the city.
